A Day in the Park

A co-worker came and asked if I'd donate a layout for their Bingo to raise funds to build a new playground in her local community park. Of course! So I whipped up this 1 page layout.

Rebel Tribute Layout

This was a hard one getting going. Rebel, my Russian Blue, came down with cancer and we had to let him go. With the help of a friend, Cindy, she found the PERFECT sentiment for the page.

Another productive w/e

Spent Saturday at the all day crop to benefit the Phoenixville Senior Center with all my chickies. We had a great time. Also got to host a houseparty.com Dole Salads party and shared with all in attendance. We were treated to the Southwest Salad Kit, Bags, Clips and Recipe Card Packets. Imagine our surprise when it started snowing like crazy...white out conditions...it was a great day!

Thank You Cards

3 Card samples from the same demo at Michael's as the Journaling book. Scrapbooking papers, ribbon, bling, ink and stamping make this cards quick and easy!

Alterable Journal

This was a demo I did at Michael's in Springfield, PA. A Strathmore book, some scrapbook papers, paints, ribbons, punched flowers, bling and Mod Poge and viola! Your own personal journal.

The Day My Heart Broke a Little Bit

Scrapbooking is about the good and the bad. This page I took at B&W photo of my son with his hands making the shape of a heart. I tore heart shape into the paper; tore a little piece from the photo and stitched it up to fix "the broken heart". The conversation that my son and I had was on Inauguration Day and he was getting his bath. He brought up the subject of Santa and whether he was real or not. The background paper already had the small paper hearts in it and the core was the read that came through when I tore it. The title is cut by my cricut; as are the hearts. I added a heart jewel and stickles. A bittersweet page.

Safe! Out!

Baseball can have its' slow moments. My husband and son would play this game of safe and out. They'd go nose to nose like you see the managers and umpires do sometimes. I just love how my son's little hand is out there emphasizing his case. The letters were cut from my cricut (Street Sign) and I crumpled them up. Then I made them reasonably flat again and ran an ink pad over each for texturing. Bling stars, a button, pearls and ribbons help complete the embellishments.

Repeat

We're HUGE Phillie phans! I have tons and tons of photos from games. In 2008, our Phils won the NL East. My poor husband couldn't go cause he had to work. Mom-Mom happily stepped in for him. Here I let the photos do all the talking. The title was pre-made cardboard letters; but I cut the Phillies "P" by hand using red and silver paper.

Field Trip

My son's first pre-school field trip had Pop-Pop going along. My son was SO excited to ride on a big, yellow school bus for the first time. I went to daycare that day to document the whole process from them getting all the kids with their name tags, to when the bus left down the road. I had found circle paper clips at a booth at one of the CKC (Creating Keepsake Convention) Valley Forge. The ribbon is from one of those small spools you can get at Michael's, JoAnn or ACMoore. The back of the bus is a Jolee's Boutique. I printed the journaling on my computer. The title I stamped onto the paper.

Going...going...gone!

When the Phillies and Eagles decided to build new facilities...it was a big deal. Veteran's Stadium had been around for what seemed like forever. A co-worker whose parents still lived in S. Philly went down for the implosion and graciously shared his photos with me. I wanted to show as many stages in the implosion as possible. So I started with the Stadium still standing at the beginning and then it completely gone at the end. In between, I placed all the other stages to create a nice, equal layout. The background paper was purchased open stock that looks like cracked concrete. The titles were from a time BEFORE personal die cut machines...so I had to do it the old fashioned way...print on the computer and cut by hand. I researched the Stadium facts and created a "fact" box. The metal circle embellishments I threaded onto fibers and using eyelets attached to my page.

"E" is for Elf

Every year our local mall has a day that Santa arrives. There's a parade with all kinds of characters. Here one of Santa's Elves poses with one of Santa's other helpers. I reverse sponged the "E" using red, green and gold paint; then I outlined with Stickles. The rest of the title is cut from (what else??) my cricut. The little elf was from a sticker sheet. I wrote on the page using a metallic scrapbooking pen. The ribbon was from a gift...proving once again that you should always use what you have on hand and despite when your husband protests, there really IS a reason for hanging onto scraps.

Gator Bait!

Have you ever purchased paper or an embellishment and created your ENTIRE layout around them? Me too! I just had to have the background paper. The foil was just too much to pass up. My father and step mother live in FL; when we visit, we enjoy an airboat ride. I had this layout in my head before we even went. I was so enamored with this paper that I cut by hand the dangling vines to entwine them in the photo. The gator is cricut (Animal Kingdom) with google eyes. The title ("gator bait") are punch out letters from a paper pack that I bought at WalMart. All proving once again that "yes, honey...I have gone overboard..."

4th of July Glitter and Bling!

I really like glitter and bling. The glitter words, glitter stars and bling stars are from a sticker sheets. The background shimmer star paper is open stock paper. I liked it so much and only had the 1 sheet that I did my usual "save some paper trick" and cut the center out so that I still have a 10 x 10 piece left. The bling on the 2 smaller photos are the Recollections (Michael's) roll tape. Again...which comes first...the layout or the photos?

End of Year Memory Gift

Every year I try to make an end-of-year gift for my son's teacher. I hope that they find something that pertains to them, him and the class is a little more special than something bought. The cirles were all created using my cricut gypsy and cut by the cricut. I had asked the teach for more photos of the kids from throughout the year (cause I didn't seem to have nearly as many as I had thought...WHAT???!!). 2nd grade was a BIG year, because the kids all made Communion. I focused on that and the idea of everything coming full circle...circle of life...etc. I always make 2 of the teacher gifts...one for the teacher (which I always frame) and one for my son for our scrapbooks.

Communion Invitations

The front of the Communion Invitations that I made for my son last May. The paper is the "Cores" glitter. The white is peace lily embossed (purchased that way from Michael's) and I edge with Fiskars Fleur de Lis. The cross is cut from my cricut (Indie Art). A pearl and some nice ribbon finishes it off.

Michael's Make and Take

This was a Make and Take that I did on a Saturday at Michael's in Springfield. Monochromatic layout and teaching several techniques to help those who sat down at the demo table get an idea of how you can do so much more than just put paper together. The photo frame is torn and edged with ink. The zebra stripe is "accordion folded" to give some depth. There's cork, canvas, ribbon, fibers and a few pearls. The flowers are made by simply tearing the shape and inking.

Valentine's Day

Obviously my family is usually the subject of my pages. Here my son is opening a Valentine's Day gift when he was little. My goal was to capture the excitement and how he enjoyed the animal. I combined several sheets of paper. The white layer was purchased with the die cut in it already. I decided rather than go with the typical centered image; I put it off on an angle. The lips are stickers; the hearts are glitter foam pieces. "Key to my Heart" was from a sheet of different "postage" stamps. "Valentine" is one of Michael's Recollections premade wordings.

Snow Layout

Layout using 1 solid sheet of paper and 1/2 a sheet of another (enables you to save a paper you really like for use at another time!). Stickers, bling, ribbon, etc. Shows how you can do a layout without having a photo on hand.

Alterable Book

I made 2 two of these. One for my son's 1st grade teacher and one for him. It was one of those cardboard books from the $1 bins at Michael's in the shape (of course!) an apple. I used "Grade School" paper from DCWV and the lettering was done with my trusty Cricut (Opposites Attract).
